Kodagu/Chamarajanagar, Aug. 16 -- Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Sunday ordered a magisterial inquiry into the deaths of three persons in forest personnel firing in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar district, as questions were raised over the silence of Christian community leaders and political representatives over the incident.

Shivakumar said he had received first-hand information and records from Forest Department officials and that a gun and two bags containing suspected wild animal meat had been seized.

"The officials have informed me that a gun has been seized. Two bags containing wild animal meat have also been seized," he told reporters in Kodagu.
