Chamarajanagar, Aug. 16 -- Former Maratalli Gram Panchayat president Selvam has questioned the silence of Christian community leaders and political representatives following the deaths of three members of the community in forest personnel firing in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar district.

In a video statement, Selvam said the families of the deceased had expected community leaders to speak out and raise their concerns, but were disappointed that no prominent representative had publicly addressed the issue.

He specifically appealed to Energy Minister K.J. George and Congress leader Ivan D'Souza to respond to the incident and stand by the affected families.
