Hyderabad, May 5 -- Telangana Government Advisor V Hanumantha Rao (VHR) on Tuesday announced that he would launch a hunger strike unto death from May 9, protesting against the Centre's stance on the BC caste census.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan, he said the agitation would continue until the Central Government gives a clear assurance on conducting a caste census for Backward Classes (BCs). He demanded that clarity be provided by May 8, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Telangana on May 10.
