Bengaluru, Sept. 5 -- The political storm over the alleged "purification" of a Haldwani rally venue after Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge addressed a public meeting has travelled to Karnataka, with Bengaluru Police registering a Zero FIR against Uttarakhand BJP members and others.

The FIR, registered at Vidhana Soudha Police Station, follows a complaint by TR Ramappa, former vice-chairman of the Congress Scheduled Tribes Department, accusing BJP members and functionaries of conducting a "Shuddhikaran" ritual at Ramlila Ground in Haldwani on August 10, two days after Kharge addressed a public meeting there.
