Hyderabad, Aug. 18 -- Hyderabad City Police and the Food Safety Department seized around 36 tonnes of adulterated ghee and raw materials after inspecting 130 manufacturing and selling establishments across the city, Commissioner of Police V C Sajjanar said on Tuesday.

Addressing a press conference at the TG ICCC Building, Sajjanar said the Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST) of the Commissioner's Task Force inspected 39 ghee manufacturing units and 91 selling outlets based on intelligence inputs and public complaints.

Officials found manufacturers allegedly using palm oil, vanaspathi, skimmed milk powder and artificial ghee flavours to prepare synthetic ghee, which was sold as "Pure Desi Ghee" and other premium brands....
