Varanasi, July 13 -- The Hindu and Muslim sides have expressed differing opinions on the Supreme Court's initiative to resolve the dispute through mediation in the Gyanvapi-Shringar Gauri dispute.
According to lawyers involved in the case, the Supreme Court has directed both parties to appear at the Mediation Center at the Varanasi District Court on July 14 to attempt a resolution through negotiations. The possibility of a resolution through a special Lok Adalat will also be considered.
Mohammad Yasin, Secretary of the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee, stated that the Muslim side does not want to resolve the dispute through mediation.
