Panchkula, Sept. 3 -- Gurugram Police has put public feedback, accountability and response time at the heart of policing, with Commissioner of Police Shivas Kabiraj directing that the performance of Station House Officers (SHOs) be judged every month on the basis of public satisfaction, crime control, response time and quality of investigation.

A Haryana Police spokesperson said here on Thursday that the directions were issued during a late-night crime review meeting chaired by the Commissioner with senior police officers, SHOs, police post in-charges and Crime Branch officials.

In a strong message to the force, the Commissioner ordered that SHO performance and public feedback would be key factors in evaluating postings. Where complaints ...
