Panchkula, July 26 -- Gurugram Police booked 228 individuals in a single day for public drinking as part of a major enforcement drive to enhance public safety, according to a police spokesperson.

The spokesperson stated that the operation covered markets, parks, busy roads, areas near liquor shops, and other sensitive locations to maintain public order and ensure a safer environment, particularly for women, children, and families.

On July 25, police teams were deployed citywide, apprehending 228 individuals for public drinking and taking prompt legal action. The operation resulted in 78 arrests in the East Zone, 73 in the West, 48 in the South, and 29 in Manesar.
