Prithviraj SinghDehradun, June 23 -- The three-day-old stalemate at the Damdama Sahib Gurdwara located in Nagrasu finally ended on Tuesday evening after all the Nihang Sikhs who had forcibly occupied the premises on June 20 came out following persuasion by the state administration and a group of Punjab-based Nihang Sikhs who came as special envoys to persuade them.

Three of the seven Nihangs who had forcibly entered the third and fourth floors of the Gurdwara and had taken the premises hostage had climbed down on Monday.

The remaining four Nihangs descended on Tuesday evening after hectic parleys with the visiting team.

The dialogue with the Punjab-based visiting group of Nihangs was successful leading to a peaceful resolution.
