Brussels, Aug. 22 -- Two masked gunmen opened fire on a police station in Brussels' Anderlecht district late Friday night, leaving at least 12 bullet holes in the building's facade, Belgian media reported.
The suspects arrived at the police station on Demosthenestraat at around 11.30 pm local time, according to surveillance footage. One of them opened fire on the building with what appeared to be an AK-47-style weapon, while the other filmed the attack.
The Brussels South police zone said officers were alerted at around 11.40 pm that shots had been fired at the station.
"The impact on the building was visible," the police zone said, adding that the entrance and glass doors were particularly targeted.
