Lucknow, April 23 -- A joint operation by the Crime Branch and Rahimabad police has exposed a major organised racket involved in Goods and Services Tax (GST) evasion.
The gang allegedly created fake GST firms and carried out fraudulent transactions worth approximately Rs 1.30 crore, causing significant losses to government revenue, officials disclosed on Thursday.
Police have arrested 35-year-old Ravinder Giri, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri, in connection with the case. Authorities recovered three mobile phones and Rs 710 in cash from his possession.
