New Delhi, July 30 -- Murali Sreeshankar's long road back from a career-threatening injury ended with a silver lining on Wednesday as the Indian long jumper produced a stirring comeback to win the men's long jump silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

More than two years after a freak training accident robbed him of his Olympic dream, Sreeshankar returned to the podium with a best jump of 8.09m, finishing behind Olympic champion Tajay Gayle of Jamaica, who won gold with 8.15m. Scotland's Stephen Mackenzie claimed bronze with 8.08m.
