Agartala, April 8 -- Tension gripped Teliamura in Khowai district last night when miscreants opened fire and launched a grenade attack on vehicles carrying BJP supporters returning from a public rally addressed by Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha ahead of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC).
According to police, the attack occurred in the Parakalk area near Mereng Bazar in the late evening. The assailants allegedly fired three rounds at the vehicles and tried to detonate a grenade, reportedly aiming to spread a fear psychosis among the voters.
At least 10 people were injured in the attack and hospitalised.
