Hyderabad, May 3 -- The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has received preliminary environmental clearance from the union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for its ambitious Ramagundam Coal Mine Project, marking a significant milestone for the state's mining sector.

The innovative project aims to extract 314.98 million tonnes of coal reserves from a combination of two open-cast and three underground mines, with an annual production capacity of 21 million tonnes-the highest in SCCL's history. The project is expected to sustain coal mining operations in the Ramagundam region for the next 25 years, providing a major boost to energy supply and industrial growth.
