Siliguri, Aug. 29 -- A businessman was allegedly murdered by his grandson and the latter's friend at his residence in English Bazar town, allegedly over money needed to repay debts incurred through online gaming.
The victim, identified as 60-year-old Arnab Sen, was found dead at his residence in No. 2 Government Colony on Friday morning.
According to Malda Superintendent of Police Anupam Singh, Sen was allegedly killed after being restrained and his throat slit on Thursday night.
Police arrested Sen's grandson Shubhojit Ghosh and his friend Kaushik Ghosh on Friday night in connection with the murder. They are expected to be produced before a court, where police will seek 10 days' remand for further interrogation.
