Lucknow, May 25 -- All Gram Pradhans will continue as administrators until the next Panchayat elections are held, after the 2027 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

The tenure of all Gram Panchayats in the state ends tomorrow, May 26.

The government has approved the proposal to make the present Gram Pradhan as an administrator.

There are 57,694 Gram Panchayats in Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier the Gram Pradhan organizations had demanded that the current pradhans be allowed to continue running the administration even after the expiry of their term, if elections are not held by then.

It has been reported that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved the proposal sent by the Panchayati Raj department on Monday.
