Mumbai, May 30 -- In a bid to defuse the brewing quota crisis in Maharashtra, Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil announced that the state government will hold direct talks with Maratha activist Manoj Jarange Patil to clear his "misconceptions" and persuade him to call off his indefinite hunger strike scheduled from May 30.
Asserting the ruling dispensation's positive approach, Vikhe Patil expressed confidence that once the administrative realities and the progress made by the government are explained, the activist will reconsider his decision to launch a fresh stir.
