Sangli, May 22 -- In the event of possible floods that may occur in the district during the monsoon, as well as in the backdrop of rainfall shortages due to the possible effects of El Nino, all the government's systems should be alert and disaster management should be carried out with preparedness to respond immediately for help and rescue in any situation, said state Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil.
Patil, who is also district guardian minister, was speaking at a meeting of the agencies to prepare for both pre-monsoon preparedness under disaster management and the scarcity situation in view of the possible impact of El Nino.
