Baramati, Sept. 3 -- Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar has criticised the Centre over its handling of the economy, alleging that the Prime Minister and Finance Minister are projecting an overly positive picture while ignoring the underlying problems facing the country.

Pawar said the government appeared to be overlooking signs of an economic slowdown and was attempting to divert public attention by highlighting issues at the international level.

"The reality on the ground has been pushed aside. People will have to spend more from their pockets and face the impact of inflation," he said.
