Patna, Aug. 22 -- With water levels in rivers flowing through Patna district showing a rising trend, District Magistrate Kundan Kumar Saturday directed the Water Resources Department and Disaster Management Department officials to remain on high alert and maintain round-the-clock surveillance of embankments and vulnerable areas.

The district magistrate said that all necessary preparations for flood prevention and relief operations are being kept in readiness, with particular emphasis on ensuring the safety of embankments and reducing response time in the event of an emergency.
