New Delhi, June 16 -- The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) on Tuesday categorically denied media reports claiming that India is actively pursuing a proposed deep-sea energy pipeline linking the country's western coast with Oman and other Gulf nations, stating that no such project is under consideration.
In a clarification issued by the ministry, MoPNG said it had taken note of a series of media reports referring to a purported "Middle East-India Deepwater Pipeline" (MEIDP), which was said to connect Gujarat with Oman and potentially other countries in the Gulf region.
