Siliguri, June 1 -- Expressing concern over what he described as two critical challenges confronting North Bengal, West Bengal Governor R. N. Ravi highlighted issues relating to national security and cultural cohesion during a programme here.
Addressing an event organised by Vishwa Samvad Kendra on the occasion of Devarshi Narad Jayanti in Siliguri on Sunday evening, the Governor said that North Bengal occupies a strategically significant position in the country's security architecture because of the Siliguri Corridor, which connects mainland India with the North-Eastern states.
