New Delhi, March 10 -- The government Tuesday sought approval from the Parliament to incur net additional expenditure of Rs 2.01 trillion under the second batch of Supplementary Demands for Grants for the financial year ending March 31.

The gross additional spending sought by the government is to the tune of Rs 2.81 trillion in the second batch. Of this amount, Rs 801.46 billion will be financed through enhanced receipts and recoveries by various ministries and departments, the finance ministry said in the documents presented to Parliament.
