New Delhi, March 13 -- Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday said that the state securing the second position in the NITI Aayog Fiscal Health Index (FHI) 2026 is a proud moment for Goa and reflects the government's commitment to fiscal discipline and responsible governance.
The coastal state has been ranked second among 18 major Indian states with a composite score of 54.7, improving from the third position in the previous edition of the index and placing it in the "Achiever" category.
Sawant told UNI that the recognition reflects Goa's prudent financial management and consistent efforts to maintain fiscal stability while ensuring development.
