Panaji, Oct. 15 -- Goa Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju today called for collective efforts to promote world peace, sustainable development and value-based education, stressing the need to foster mutual respect and religious tolerance.
He was speaking at the inauguration of a programme on social organisations, religious communities and interfaith dialogue for sustainable development and world peace, organised by World Peace University, Goa, in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair.
The Governor said education should focus on developing responsible citizens and instilling human values. He stressed that justice, non-violence and respect for all religions were essential for peace and harmony.
