Pune, March 30 -- Amid ongoing conflicts in the Gulf region, concerns are mounting over their potential long-term impact on India's construction industry.
While the sector has not yet faced a significant setback, prolonged war conditions could deal a severe blow, warned senior construction businessman Krishnakumar Goyal here Monday.
Goyal pointed out that the war has already disrupted the supply of key construction materials. A major concern is the shortage of commercial gas, which has halted tile production. Since a large number of tile manufacturing companies are based in Gujarat, nearly 70 per cent of these units have shut down due to the gas supply crisis.
