Chennai, June 4 -- In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old girl was drugged and sexually assaulted by a cab driver, who was later nabbed, thrashed by the public and handed over to the police at Keeraikadai area in Trichy district of Tamil Nadu on Thursday.
Police arrested the cab driver after registering cases against him under various sections of BNS and POCSO.
The incident came to light, after the locals found a young girl lying on the roadside in an unconscious state and heavily intoxicated. The cab driver had took the girl in his car, gave her drinks mixed with drugs and sexually assaulted.
