Hyderabad, May 26 -- : Genome Foundation, Hyderabad, on Monday inaugurated a state-of-the-art RT-PCR facility aimed at strengthening its diagnostic and research capabilities in the field of genetic disorders and rare diseases.

The facility was inaugurated by Dr. K.P.C. Gandhi, Managing Director of Genome Foundation.

RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction) is a highly sensitive laboratory technology used to convert RNA into DNA and amplify it for the detection, measurement and analysis of specific genetic material, the foundation said in a release here.

The technique is widely used in medical diagnostics, biological research and forensic science.
