Parwinder SandhuNew Delhi, May 31 -- General N S Raja Subramani on Sunday assumed charge as India's third Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and Secretary, Department of Military Affairs, outlining an ambitious agenda centred on military integration, indigenous capability development and organisational reforms aimed at strengthening national security.
General Subramani succeeds General Anil Chauhan, who completed his tenure after more than three years in the role, while General Bipin Rawat served as India's first CDS from 2020 until his tragic death in a helicopter crash in December 2021.
