Patna, Sept. 7 -- The rising water level of the Ganga has heightened the threat of flooding in several parts of Bihar, with the river flowing above the danger mark at multiple locations, including Patna.
According to data from the Central Water Commission (CWC), the Ganga was today flowing significantly above the danger level at several key locations in the state. In Patna district, the water level at Dighaghat and Gandhighat was 1.33 metres and 1.81 metres above the respective danger marks.
The district administration has urged people living in low-lying areas and along the riverbanks to remain alert in view of the rising water level.
