Patna, Sept. 14 -- The water level of the Ganga and several other major rivers in Bihar remained above the danger mark at several locations this morning, even as the receding trend in the Ganga at most key gauge stations brought some relief.
However, the rising levels of the Punpun and Bagmati rivers continued to cause concern in low-lying areas.
According to data released by the Water Resources Department this morning, the Ganga was flowing at 50.81 metres at Digha in Patna, 49.61 metres at Gandhi Ghat, 42.82 metres at Hathidah, 39.38 metres at Munger, 34.18 metres at Bhagalpur and 32.49 metres at Kahalgaon.
The river was above the respective danger marks at all these locations.
At Digha, the Ganga was 0.36 metres above the danger mark...
