New Delhi, Sept. 14 -- The national capital turned vibrant with colours on Monday as devotees celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with traditional fervour, bringing idols of Lord Ganesha to homes and community pandals amid chants of "Ganpati Bappa Morya".

From residential colonies and temples to neighbourhood pandals, devotees gathered to welcome Vighnaharta, the remover of obstacles, with flowers, diyas, modaks and elaborate decorations.

The fragrance of incense mingled with devotional music as families performed prayers and sought blessings for prosperity, peace and happiness.
