Kolkata, Oct. 27 -- The West Bengal Human Rights Commission (WBHRC) on Tuesday directed the Superintendent of Police of Bongaon Police District to submit a detailed report by November 6 on the alleged encounter death of the prime accused in the rape and murder of a minor girl in Gaighata.
WBHRC chairperson Justice Indra Prasanna Mukherjee also directed the SP to preserve all evidence related to the incident in North 24 Parganas district.
Justice Mukherjee issued the order after commission member Justice Madhumati Mitra drew his attention to media reports about the death of the 23-year-old accused in a police encounter late on Monday night.
