Patna, May 25 -- The Communist Party of India today demanded an immediate rollback of the recent hike in petrol, diesel and cooking gas prices, alleging that rising inflation has placed an unbearable burden on the common people.

CPI state secretary Ram Naresh Pandey accused the Central government led by Narendra Modi and the BJP-NDA governments of pursuing anti-people policies that have led to continuous increases in fuel and LPG prices. He said the hike has adversely impacted farmers, labourers, small traders and the middle class.
