Lucknow, Sept. 22 -- In view of food quality and consumer health, the Uttar Pradesh Food Safety and Drug Administration Department conducted intensive inspections of fast food and restaurant establishments in five districts of the state: Kanpur Nagar, Agra, Ghaziabad, Prayagraj, and Varanasi, under the "Shudh Hi Shubh Hai" campaign.
During the inspections, several serious irregularities were discovered at food manufacturing and processing sites. Considering these circumstances serious from a food safety perspective, legal action was taken against the concerned establishments in accordance with the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and the rules and regulations made thereunder.
