Bhubaneswar, April 27 -- In a quiet village on the outskirts of Bondamunda near Rourkela,in Odisha's Sundargarh district, the steady hum of a sewing machine has become a symbol of independence for Elani Kandulna.
Once bound by financial dependence and limited opportunities, Elani today stands as a confident, self-reliant woman earning her own livelihood.
"The sewing training has made me self-supporting and empowered," she says with pride. "I no longer depend on my family for personal expenses and feel confident about earning on my own."Elani is among several rural women whose lives have been transformed through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of Rourkela Steel Plant.
