New Delhi, June 17 -- The 19th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) has turned the spotlight on India's North-East through a specially curated package of documentaries and short fiction films that capture the region's cultural diversity, historical legacy and ecological richness.
The section, featuring films in Khasi, Nagamese, Ao, Kokborok, Kaubru, Bhutia, Assamese, Manipuri and Mizo languages, offers audiences an intimate glimpse into communities, traditions, landscapes and personalities that shape life across the eight North-Eastern states.
Running from June 15 to 21, MIFF 2026 presents stories that range from family relationships and indigenous customs to wildlife conservation and unsung heroes of India's freedom movement.
