New Delhi, Sept. 4 -- Senior Under Officer (SUO) Vikas Gautam's journey from an Agniveer serving as a T-90 tank gunner to becoming an Army officer has emerged as an example of determination, discipline and perseverance, the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) said in a social media post today.

Hailing from a small village in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, Gautam had aspired to join the Indian Army from an early age. After completing his engineering degree in Computer Science, he entered the Army as an Agniveer and was posted to The Scinde Horse (14 Horse) of the Armoured Corps, where he served as a T-90 tank gunner.
