Mangaluru, June 15 -- The Dharmasthala mass burial case has taken a fresh turn after complainant Chinnayya approached the Special Investigation Team (SIT), alleging intimidation attempts by pro-Sowjanya movement activist Girish Mattannavar and a YouTuber, triggering a sharp counter-accusation and deepening the controversy around the ongoing probe.
In a complaint submitted to the SIT office in Belthangady on Monday, Chinnayya alleged that his family members were contacted and questioned about his writ petition pending before the Karnataka High Court. He claimed these interactions were aimed at pressuring him to withdraw from the legal battle and influencing key witnesses in the case.
