Panchkula, Aug. 28 -- A new period of rain is expected to get stronger over the western Himalayan region, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting very heavy rain in some parts of Uttarakhand on August 31 and September 1. Himachal Pradesh is likely to have heavy rain for four days in a row from August 31 to September 3.
The latest IMD All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin shows a clearly wetter period for the hill states compared to the nearby northwestern plains. While Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Punjab are also expected to get rain in the next few days, there is no heavy-rain warning for these areas in the seven-day forecast.
