Panchkula, Aug. 28 -- Rainfall activity is set to intensify over the western Himalayan region from the weekend, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting a fresh spell of fairly widespread to widespread rain over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir, while Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi are likely to receive isolated rainfall during the next seven days.
The IMD's All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin, issued at 8.16 am on August 28, said fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over Uttarakhand from August 28 to September 2, Himachal Pradesh from August 30 to September 2 and Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh from August 31 to September 1.
