Amravati, July 17 -- : A 10-year-old girl sustained grievous injuries after being mauled by a frenzied stray dog in Maharashtra's Amravati city, triggering renewed concern over the growing stray dog menace, officials said on Friday.
The incident occurred on Thursday in the Rukmini Nagar area when Sanidi Sachin Kaware was on her way home. A stray dog suddenly attacked her, inflicting severe bite injuries on her face before local residents rushed to her rescue and drove the animal away.
The child was initially admitted to a nearby hospital and later shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where her condition is stated to be critical.
