Paris, June 5 -- Eighth seed Mirra Andreeva advanced to her first Grand Slam final, defeating 15th-seeded Marta Kostyuk 6-1, 6-3 at the French Open, while qualifier Maja Chwalinska continued her remarkable run by reaching the championship match.
At 19, Andreeva became the youngest women's singles Grand Slam finalist since Coco Gauff reached the French Open final in 2022.
Andreeva dominated from the beginning and wrapped up victory in an hour and 16 minutes, revenging the loss in the Madrid final last month, where Kostyuk had beaten her in straightsets on Thursday.
