Paris, May 19 -- France and 40 other participating states of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) have invoked the organisation's Moscow Mechanism to investigate the human rights situation related to the alleged abduction and deportation of Ukrainian children by Russia.

The move, initiated on May 13, seeks to gather and analyse information on allegations of coercion, intimidation, unlawful detention, illegal adoption, mistreatment and other forms of violence against Ukrainian children. France and its European partners accused Russia of transferring children to Russian families, leading to their indoctrination and militarisation.
