New Delhi, Aug. 27 -- Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have invested Rs 27,186 crore (USD 2.85 billion) in Indian equities so far in August 2026, marking the second consecutive month of net inflows and the strongest monthly buying since September 2024, according to data from the National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL).
The latest inflows come after FPIs invested Rs 20,200 crore (USD 2.12 billion) in July, indicating a sustained improvement in foreign investor sentiment towards Indian equities.
Data showed that of the total inflows recorded till August 25, 2026, around Rs 15,491 crore came through exchange purchases, while Rs 11,694 crore was invested through the primary market and other categories.
