Pune, May 2 -- Four youths lost their lives in separate drowning accidents at Jadhavwadi Dam and the Pavana River, in Pune district's Maval taluka, during the Maharashtra Day and Labour Day holiday.
According to officials, five tourists had entered the water at Jadhavwadi Dam near Navlakh Umbre when they reportedly misjudged the depth and began drowning.
Three youths - Ajay Garude, Santosh Edke and Aniket Pawar -- died in the incident, while two others were rescued by local villagers.
In another incident at Salumbre, 25-year-old Manoj Bharat Gautam drowned while swimming in the Pavana River.
Rescue teams, including local volunteers, Shivdurg Mitra members and the NDRF, carried out a joint operation to recover the bodies.
