Chennai, May 12 -- Four members of family were killed in an accident involning a car and a lorry at Pollachi-Palladam main road in Coimbatore district, even as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay condoled their deaths and announced a solatium of Rs three lakh each to their family members.
An official release said Dhanapal (37), a native of Kaadayampatti village in Salem district, and four his family members were proceeding to Pollachi from Palladam in a cruiser car, when a goods-laden lorry, heading towards Pollachi from Palladam in the opposite direction, collided with the car.
The lorry driver, Saravanan (39), was driving at high speed resulting in the accident and killing four people on the spot.
