Imphal, May 26 -- A joint team of security forces apprehended four suspected armed Kuki militants during an operation linked to the abduction of six Naga villagers from Kangpokpi district on Monday.

Police said on Tuesday that the villagers were abducted on May 14 along with their family members. Their family members, numbering 14 persons, were released by suspected Kuki militants, but the six villagers were not released.

According to police, the arrests were made during a joint operation conducted by personnel of the Manipur Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Assam Rifles in the area between P. Molding and Leilon Vaiphei inter-village road in Kangpokpi district.
