Dhaka, May 1 -- In Bangladesh's worsening measles outbreak, four children died from measles-like symptoms in the country in the past 24 hours till 8 am on Friday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the same period, over 1,170 patients with measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals nationwide.

Of these, 115 cases were laboratory-confirmed as measles.

Around 49 children have been confirmed dead from measles infections in the country, while 231 children succumbed to symptoms consistent with the disease.
