Agartala, May 19 -- A local court on Tuesday remanded four persons, including a Bangladeshi national, to three days' police custody after they were arrested in the city in connection with a purported kidnapping and ransom case.
The accused have been identified as Rabil Miah, Iqbal Hossain, Jakir Hossain, and Nishab Miah. Police said Nishab Miah is a Bangladeshi citizen and has been charged separately with illegally entering India.
They were charged under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita associated with abduction, conspiracy, and threats. According to the report, a person was allegedly taken from the Office Lane vicinity of the city two days ago by an unknown gang.
